Eye of the Lens - Monothematic Publication.

Inspired by the realms of horror, anxiety, and phenomenology, this singularly focused publication delves into the concepts and themes explored in an essay penned by Matthew J. Raimondo of York University. The essay navigates a contemporary subgenre within horror cinema, one that intricately adopts the aesthetics of observational documentary.

Within the discussed films, the camera seamlessly becomes a part of the narrative, controlled by a character and moving in a manner that authentically reflects how this individual would handle it in a real-world scenario. Motivated by this immersive approach, concealed within the text are subtle circles meticulously designed to mirror the perpetual gaze of a camera lens, always scrutinizing and observing the unfolding narrative from a first-person perspective.
